Priya Nair well known by the artistic name Lakshmipriya born in a Gulf country, steeped in Western culture, schooling, graduation and post-graduation all from abroad, Lakshmipriya, who deeply loves and respects the unique arts of India, became interested in classical dance and music at a very young age. It was God's will that the blessed Kalasadan Vijayakumar , Kalamandalam Susheela Vijayakumar (Kairali Arts) , and Ambika Surya Narayan came together as teachers in Kuwait, the place of birth. With their blessings and guidance, opportunities have come to perform various dances and classical dance like Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam, Oppana, Folk Dance, Bible dance and learned Carnatic music and performed dance on the stages of hundreds of cultural organizations in Kuwait.
God gave Lakshmipriya opportunities to master Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi and Bollywood dance at the esteemed Mrs. Archana Koorthy (Rachana Natyalaya - Andhra Pradesh) in Auckland, New Zealand, followed by Bharatanatyam at the Mrs. Anuradha school of Indian Dances (Anuradha's school of Indian Dances - Tamil Nadu /Andhra Pradesh).

Opportunities to perform dances on many stages in and around Auckland have come and gone over the years. Among these, one of the two occasions that is remarkable is that Lakshmipriya got the chance to perform a dance in front of New Zealand Prime Minister Helen Clark. It was also very notable at that time Lakshmipriya won the first prize in the Asian Cultural program for Semi - Classical dance (Mohiniyattam style) choreographed by respected Beena Sethuraman and came as a news item on a television channel.
After returning to Kuwait, Lakshmipriya continued Bharatanatyam , Kuchipudi, Mohiniyattam , Semi-Classical dance with Mrs. Rathi Vijayan in (Mudra Arts - Kuwait). She was given opportunities to discover the intricacies of Bharatanatyam as a beloved disciple of Dr. Rangashree Srinivas (Kinkini School - Bangalore/Kuwait), who was an A grade artist at Doordarshan and opportunities came to study music under the tutelage of Mrs. Vasantha Ashok Kumar, who is very famous in Carnatic music in Kuwait. There is no history of Kuwait's royal family attending a three-hour dance performance by an Indian woman. It was an achievement for Lakshmipriya to do it. Under the mentorship of Dhananjayan Master and Shanta Dhananjayan teacher (Padma Bhushan Dr. Dhananjayans, Bharata kalanjali Adayar, Chennai), Lakshmipriya discovered new levels of Bharatanatyam after studying in traditional kalakshetra bani - for two years. Lakshmipriya was fortunate to have the opportunity to study music for two years in traditional education with Bhushany Kalyanaraman, consort of Thanjavur S. Kalyanaraman, who was G.N.Balasubramaniam's beloved disciple. Lakshmipriya developed interests in art and yoga as well while she was in Chennai and managed to take up Glass painting and Kerala Mural Painting and Yoga classes.
After returning to New Zealand and formally attended Zumba class with Janine Duffy, and later on did the training in Zumba Fitness Western based dance Fitness Program with Carolina Arias , she has performed Zumba Fitness for many charity groups and received numerous accolades. Lakshmipriya got the opportunity to train with Carolina Aries, Maria Teresa Stone, Richard Gormley for Zumba Basic 1 and 2 , Zumba Proskills, Aqua Zumba, Zumba Kids, Zumba Sentao and did Masterclasses with Maria Browning, Maria Teresa Stone, Tamara Pitts, Carolina Aries , Jarrod Tucker, Prince Palto-ob, Camilla Z da Silva. Lakshmipriya managed to do some Zumba Jam sessions (choreography class) with Tamara Pitts, Marlex Pagalunan. Lakshmipriya was blessed to meet Francesca Maria (Artist) and had an opportunity to do a workshop and masterclass with her.
Lakshmipriya explored in other dance fitness like U-jam Fitness and Bounce dance fit. Lakshmipriya did U-jam fitness with U-jam Fitness trainer Kristen Noel and U- jam coaches Marcella Loera , Delia Cavnar and Elaine Zafra Yu and bounce fit dance fit from the creator off the program Franko Conquista. By the time EzyMovez Dance Fitness was introduced in Auckland by Elaine Zafra Yu (creator of the program) which was the first dance fitness program in Auckland, New Zealand and Lakshmipriya managed to attend the masterclass while doing acrylic painting class in Te Tuhi (Auckland, New Zealand). Lakshmipriya was blessed to meet ZES (Zumba Education Specialist) ZJ (Zumba Jammers) U- Jam Trainers , Creator of Bounce Dance Fit and several people from around the world and was explored to different dance fitness and group fitness programs such as Zumba , U-Jam , Bounce dance fit, Lesmills, Boxfit and much more.
Meanwhile, Lakshmipriya joined the traditional education from the respected Swarna Raja Academy of traditional Art to become proficient in Tanjore paintings and Kerala mural paintings. She studied dance in the traditional system for almost two years under the guidance of renowned Manju Bhargavi (Bangalore- Versatile actress in Sankarabharanam movie actress and dancer) of Kuchipudi dance form and at the same time she managed to study Carnatic music under Shankar Mahadevan Academy and continued her yoga classes. Lakshmipriya lost the opportunity to study further due to the pandemic.
It was then that she turned her attention to Professional photography and various types of painting and drawing. Lakshmipriya has traveled to a lot of different places since her youth and holds one diplomas 2 certificates in professional photography from Auckland, New Zealand. Currently working on the 4th certificate. After learning about various aspects of drawing and painting through its online classes with Konsult Creative Education, Lakshmipriya is now awaiting her Diploma Certificate from London for Art after one year of continuous classes. It is God's blessing that many opportunities have come to Lakshmipriya to get the blessings of so many great talents of India like K. J. Yesudas, Vyjayanthimala, M. Balamuralikrishna, T. M. Soundararajan, P. Susheela, S. P. Balasubrahmanyam, K. S. Chithra, madurai seshagopalan, T. H. Vinayakram, P. Unnikrishnan, Priya Sisters, Dasyam Gopika Varma , Sukanya Ramgopal, Aswathi Thirunal Gowri Lakshmi Bayi, Dr. K Krishna Kumar, Binni Krishnakumar, Ambili, Aswathi Thirunal Rama Varma , Sukanya, etc. She graduated in Information Technology and pursued a Masters in Business Administration (IT) with distinction. Lakshmipriya is always indebted to her parents, relatives, friends, mentors and teachers who have helped her through out her journey. Mallika Sukumaran’s ( Famous movie actress) sister, who paved the way for her debut as Bharatmata in a children's play as a young child. Lakshmipriya had a great benefactor for that performance from E. M. S. Namboodiripad( Former Chief Minister Of Kerala) , fondly remembers her debut in the art world by bagging two awards for good costume and good acting.
